When to choose Marnie
Choose Marnie when your reps are answering competitive and product questions in front of buyers, and the answer has to be the approved one. Slackbot will find the thread where someone guessed at a competitor’s pricing last spring. Marnie answers from the battle card you verified last week, and tells the rep whether they can repeat it to a prospect. Choose Marnie too if you want to know what your field is asking: every question Marnie can’t answer lands in your gap list.
When Slackbot may fit better
If your main need is general productivity, Slackbot is a strong choice: summarizing channels, catching up after time off, drafting messages, finding an old file. It’s built into Slack and covers the whole company. If you’re already on Business+ and nobody is selling against competitors yet, it may be all you need for now.
Frequently asked questions
Can we use both?
Yes. They do different jobs. Slackbot helps everyone get through the day. Marnie handles the questions that reach prospects. Reps @mention Marnie when the answer needs to be approved.
Slackbot cites its sources too. What’s the difference?
It’s what counts as a source. Slackbot can cite any message the rep can see, including speculation, outdated pricing and internal-only notes. Marnie only cites sources you’ve approved and labeled.
Do we need Slack Business+ to use Marnie?
No. Marnie is its own Slack app, so you don’t need Slack’s AI features to use it.
